Orange Sacral Chakra Exercises and Activities

How to Strengthen Orange Chakra

An unbalanced sacral chakra benefits from the same activities as a blocked one. In addition to the sacral chakra, yoga poses can be strengthened by other sacral chakra exercises and activities. These include listening to music, eating the right food, and exercising. Specific actions include:

  • Dancing.

Dancing, especially belly dancing, hula hooping, and other movements that use pelvic thrusts and hip motions, is helpful for emotional symptoms. Moreover, they are useful for sacral chakra pain. After all, what does the orange sacral chakra do? It helps us feel joy and express creativity, and dancing embodies both! Moreover, it physically strengthens the body. It is also a creative expression of joy that boosts endorphin levels in the brain. Therefore, it perfectly fulfills the sacral chakra purpose.

  • Listening to music.

Sacral chakra healing music is helpful, even when we use it just for background sounds. Some music focuses specifically on a sacral chakra frequency of 303, 288, or 417hz. These frequencies stimulate the area to help open or balance it. Moreover, some are a one-tone orange chakra musical note that can be used during meditation. At the same time, others incorporate this frequency into music suitable for dancing. Also, you don’t have to be able to hear these frequencies for them to take effect. Your brain and body can perceive them, even if they are beyond your hearing range.

  • Eating well.

Foods that contain healthy fats strengthen this energy center. Sacral chakra foods include rich sources of omega fatty acids, like fish, nuts, and avocado. Since this chakra is associated with water, the best sacral chakra healing foods are watery, orange, and pleasurable. Add more oranges, nectarines, mangoes, and cantaloupe to your diet. How you eat your food is just as important as what you eat. For example, for sacral chakra healing, you should consume every dish slowly, taking time to savor each bite. As the chakra of sensual pleasure, give yourself full rein to enjoy what you take into your body.

  • Aromatherapy.

Our sense of smell is powerful. It’s tied to our memory, our sense of joy, and even how we taste our food and perceive our environment. Therefore, some aromatherapy oils can awaken orange chakra, whether you use them as perfume, or fragrance your home, during a balancing orange sacral chakra meditation. Or as a part of a sacral chakra yoga practice. These include:

  1. Ylang – ylang.
  2. Sandalwood.
  3. Geranium.
  4. Tangerine.
  5. Rose.
  6. Jasmine.
  7. Cedarwood.

The funny thing about the orange chakra is that it governs our sexual expression to the point that these oils are considered aphrodisiacs. This is why Ylang-ylang and jasmine, in particular, are excellent for use in the bedroom to heighten passion for you and your partner.

  • Using herbs.

There are multiple ways to use herbs to strengthen the orange chakra. For example, you can bring orange-colored flowers into your home, infuse them in oil and anoint your lower abdomen. Or you can add them to your diet. For example, Calendula flowers are excellent here. They are bright yellow-orange, easy to grow in the garden, make a nourishing skin oil, and are edible. Other sacral chakra herbs include:

  1. Hibiscus.
  2. Licorice.
  3. Coriander.
  4. Carob.
  5. Sweet paprika.
  6. Vanilla.
  7. Sesame.
  8. Caraway.

Additionally, you can make herbs into sacral chakra tea for easy consumption. For example, mix dried calendula petals, hibiscus, vanilla bean, and cardamom pods. Then, add a tablespoon to a tea strainer and steep in hot water for ten minutes. Sweeten with honey, and sip slowly. Enjoy!

  • Speaking affirmations.

Since our sense of self-worth is tied to the orange chakra, we can use affirmations to bolster it. In addition, the sacral chakra meaning translates to the dwelling place of the self, and affirmations are a well-known way to reinforce healthy self-esteem. It is because repeating these words influences our thought patterns, and these thought patterns create our reality. So, twice a day, try repeating the phrases:

  1. “I embrace my sexuality.”
  2. “I am worthy of love and happiness.”
  3. “My emotions are healthy and balanced.”
  4. “I attract people who treat me with kindness and respect.”
  5. “I am creative.”
  6. “And I welcome pleasure into my life.”

To sum up, writing these phrases daily is also helpful if you keep a journal. Suppose you don’t. Consider starting one. It’s a valuable tool for picking up on patterns and noticing when imbalances occur, so you can take care of them before they impact your life.

  • Yoga for the Orange Chakra.

Sacral chakra exercises, such as asanas, including Jathara Parivartanasana (spinal twist), are helpful here. The best sacral chakra poses focus on the area of the hips, sacrum, and lower abdomen, and this pose targets them beautifully. To try, lie on your back with your legs extended and resting on the floor, arms out in a T-pose. Then, bend your knees, bringing them to your belly. Now, press your lower back to the floor and engage your pelvic muscles. Next, press the shoulders to the floor as you get your knees to the right. Repeat on the left side.

  • Kundalini yoga kriyas for the Orange Chakra.

Kundalini yoga differs from the above in using quick movements called “kriyas.” These movements are intended to release kundalini energy, which sits at the base of the spine. For example, a kundalini yoga kriya is one of these sacral chakra exercises that can involve contracting the anus or genitals or adopting a pose and rapidly moving the legs or knees. Some of these include the frog pose, bending and straightening the knees 26 times; Or, pelvic lifts, raising the pelvis to the sky for three minutes at a time; or bridge pose. Since this orange sacral chakra sequence involves rapid movements, it may be best to seek out a teacher experienced with kundalini yoga to ensure you use the correct form and avoid injuring yourself.

Other helpful sacral chakra exercises and stretches include Upavistha Konasana (wide-angle seated forward bend), Gomukhasana (cow face pose), Baddha Konasana (bound angle pose), Paripurna Navasana (full boat pose), Utkatasana (chair pose). Incorporating these asanas into flow will add to relaxing sacral chakra exercises.

  • Mudras for the Orange Chakra.

Mudras are also helpful for orange chakra healing. In short, the term “mudra” means “gesture,” which relies on hand positions to place you in touch with sacral energy. For example, Dhyana mudra is used during meditation to invoke the sacral chakra properties. It also improves concentration and healing. First, adopt a comfortable meditation posture to perform it properly. Then, rest your right hand on top of your left, upturned, forming a bowl. Now, bring your thumbs together, so the tips touch to create a triangle.

  • Meditating for the Orange Chakra Health.

You can use sacral chakra meditation to open and unblock this area. For example, you may sit or lie down and place your hands on your lower abdomen or in dhyana mudra. Then, focus on your breathing and the motion of your lower abdomen with each inward and outward breath. When you are ready, visualize yourself drawing life energy in through this orange chakra with each inhalation and releasing it with each exhalation.

  • Mantras for the Orange Chakra.

As you meditate, you may wish to chant a mantra. The sacral chakra mantra is “VAM.” Chanting this sacral chakra sound creates a frequency that helps open and stimulates it.

You may also wish to use the mantra of bliss, “Har Haray Hari Wahe Guru.” This translates to, “All aspects of the Creator are Bliss.” This mantra stimulates your creative energies to break through blockages.

Suppose your blockage is caused by or manifests as fear. In that case, you can chant, “Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Namo Namo Sarab Shakti, Sarab Shakti, Sarab Shakti, Namo Namo Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Namo Namo Kundalini Mata Shakti, Mata Shakti, Namo Namo.” This translates to, “I call upon the primal power. And I call upon the all-encompassing power and energy. I call upon that through which God creates. And I call upon the creative power of the Kundalini, the Divine Mother Power.” Notably, this mantra is said to destroy fear and achieve desire.
